Why have my gas appliance serviced?
The most important reason for an annual service is that it ensures that your gas appliance is safe, during the appointment we will check the gas appliance for any warning signs that they are not working properly.
To maximise performance and reliability, it's important to keep your appliances well maintained, also to try and avoid future repairs if problems are spotted early. Servicing can help with its life expectancy.
All appliances will be serviced according to the manufacturer’s instructions and current regulations.
For boilers and heating systems, this will involve cleaning any magnetic filters and performing a heating water test.
If your appliance is still within its warranty period, most manufacturers require the appliance to be serviced yearly around the same month it was installed to maintain its warranty.
The results and certificates are then sent to you digitally, Landlord Safety Certificates are also sent digitally for you to forward onto your tenants.
What happens if my appliance needs repairing?
While servicing does reduce the risk of breakdowns, they do happen unfortunately.
We will ask some questions before we visit to better understand what the issue might be and be fully prepared for the visit.
During the diagnostics appointment, we test all relevant parts to ensure that all problems are detected, we also have access to most manufacturers technical support to aid this.
We will explain in full what we have discovered and the options available to you. Any parts costs will be agreed before they are fitted. However, we don’t throw costly parts at the problem in the hope it will fix it.
We will be honest and fair, advising you on whether it is economical to spend the money repairing the appliances or whether they would be better off fitting a brand new one.
